March 19, 2020 - Update

Hi Everyone!

Students - You might have noticed the invitation to join our a new CLT-wide Google Classroom. We, as a school and a county, are still trying to figure out how and when to present materials (and what those materials will be). So there is nothing in that Google Classroom yet. Please stay tuned.

Know that I miss you all. I’m thinking of you all always. I hope you’re healthy, fed, secure, and have found something to do to make the most of your time. I am finding new places to exercise without the gym. Minnie and I are doing a lot of baking. Mr. B and Maeby are getting used to having us all home all the time. :) I hope all my fellow March babies are having happy birthdays out there. I've encouraged my own kids to keep a captain's log of their daily activities - however mundane. One day your grandchildren will ask you what it was like to live through this time and you may be thankful to have a record of it.

I’ll check back in with you all once we (your teachers) are given more instructions. You all still have access to your Google Classroom accounts and can review as much (or as little) as you desire. Also: My YouTube Channel, Khan Academy, and JLabs.

In short: Your update is not really an update at all. Hang in there, and just breathe. ♥

This week in Algebra 1… May 4, 2020 This week we will continue OPERATIONS ON POLYNOMIALS. Monday and Tuesday have been designated as catch up days for students who are now joining continuity of education for the first time. We will continue to post a HYPERDOC each Monday on Google Classroom with a weekly agenda to guide you through a specific module in Edmentum, scaffolded with videos and Desmos activities. The May 4th hyperdoc can be found here: Week of May 4th Hyperdoc . We have broken down the modules into A/B lessons. If you prefer to keep a daily schedule you may break the FIRST/THEN boxes into two days. We have simply a suggested daily pacing guide to help you work through the modules in a timely, manageable manner. At the end of each week, we will ask you to complete an exit ticket in the form of a Google Form. These are linked in your hyperdoc. The exit tickets will give us feedback on the amount of work we are assigning and will inform the discussion in our Monday
